Nimbus 29 KHTbar Mountainuni Hydraulic Disc Brake
Posted by Jeff Putnam on October 05, 2011
We're continuing to build and refine the ideal options for a MountainUNi Brake installations. Here is a build of Eric's using a Nimbus 29 Steel Frame. This has a steel welded tab welded to the lower right stantion. This uni is a "pre UCM" build, which sparked the idea to fabricate a bolt on system for affixing the caliper. We are very fond of the KH Tbar set up for it's adjustability and multiple places to attach the brake handle by using same sized tubing. The 2010 KH freeride seat has the new threaded inserts so it allows for a the stiffener plate and bar mount to be really strong, light and predictable while keeping the traditional KH front grab handle intact and completely accessible. The Hydraulic Brake is an easy bolt upgrade that pays dividend on the very first ride! If you ride or live in hilly areas, valleys or ride mountainous terrain, having an effective means for speed control is a must. Try it, you'll like it. Thanks for the Pic Eric!
If a Nimbus Steel 29" build like this is of interest, please reach out to us. :-)
