The Triton MEGA MUni is the Flagship of Mountainuni's product line. Every attention to detail has been paid to this custom built 36" UNI, and is built from the ground up with the strongest, lightest & highest quality components the industry. Triton frames are handmade in Russia, and MountainUNI is the exclusive US distributor of Triton unicycle frames. Triton is the first unicycle frame manufacturer to weld lower stantion tab mounts to accept an "IS Standand" 52mm standoff. With this enhancement, we're now able to build complete 36" unicycles to your customized inseam specifications, and fitted with MountainUNI's drivetrain & braking system.
MEGA-MUni is about going faster, longer, & being more nimble than any of it's 36" predecessors! Special attention has been paid to decrease overall weight & rolling inertia that's typically seen with BIG wheels. We use the finent components available starting with KH ISIS Hub, and either a lightweight strong Nimbus drilled rim or Nimbus Stealth2. The lightwt Foss 36" tube is a great option to decrease rolling inertia and is 40% lighter, but requires the use of a non drilled rim, Stealth2 only. This 36" off-road machine fully dressed (as pictured) weighs 15.4 lbs.That's a hair under 7000 gms. That should make the weight concious folk(uni that is)very happy!
With MountainUNI's braking system, the power needed for quick stops & modulation required for extended downhill periods is a major advancement in unicycle braking. It allows for a smooth pedaling cadence & featherlike modulation to handle any urban or offroad downhill terrain you might encounter. The MEGA-MUni is fantastic for on-road or off-road riding adventures, errands downtown or long distance events. The Duesseldorf marathon which took place in May 2011, had a unicycle division & two Local German favorites Jogi & Nadine won both the male and female divisons respectively riding Triton Unicycles!
The saddle of MEGA-MUni is the most advanced seat system available for unicycles today. The Scott Wallis Designs carbon fiber seat system combines the ultimate in form and functionality. The attention to detail in this build is wonderful with the integrated seat post bolts, allowing for virtually infinite saddle angle adjustability with a Thompson Elite seatpost. The carbon fiber Death Grip handle can be likened to a Hurst handle, and is custom molded to anotomical perfection with the largest part of the handmold is at the thumb (inside grip). They can be made "ambidextrous" for either LH or RH grip, & the V-Grip handle can be added as an accesory to the Wallis system. The "Stubby VGrip" extension is ergonomically opposite for the alternate hand, so whether L or R grip, the Scott Wallis designed system has you covered. A carbon fiber base is one of the most effective ways to increase your hill climbing & technical uphill MUni skills. What this means is minimal to no "power robbing" flex that's inherent to plastic bases & handles. The Wallis Carbon Fiber Sytem can purchased ala carte as a base, death grip, VGrip extentions w/ stubby handle, bumper) or as a complete system.
